There are literally hundreds of dining options at Walt Disney World throughout all of the theme parks! If you’re planning before you go or looking for a place to dine while you’re here, these are some of the best Disney World restaurants for kids of all ages. You’ll find they’re broken down by park so you can find the perfect option no matter where you choose to go. Granted, there are many more noteworthy options throughout WDW (and they’re all kid-friendly).
Magic Kingdom: Magical Dining with the Kids
Let’s start with one of the most popular restaurants at Disney World for kids and adults alike…
Be Our Guest Restaurant
Located at the base of the Beast’s Castle, you’re invited to “Be Our Guest” at this one-of-a-kind Beauty and the Beast themed dining experience. Feast on French-inspired food in one of the three dining areas — The Grand Ballroom, The West Wing, or the Castle Gallery. You can choose from full-service dining or quick service. Keep in mind that reservations are hard to come by, and lines for lunch (quick service) can get long.
Cinderella’s Royal Table
Dine inside Cinderella’s Castle at the unique fairytale dining experience at Cinderella’s Royal Table! If you have a child that loves Beauty and the Beast, this is one experience you won’t want to miss. As you enter the grand hall and proceed up the staircase to the banquet hall, you’ll see quite the storybook setting, complete with windows overlooking Fantasyland. No matter what age you are, this is another must-experience dining option while at Disney World. It is even featured on our top 5 romantic restaurants in Orlando for date night!
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
Themed as a ’50s-era lounge with a space station vibe, this fast-food spot has one of the best topping bars in all of the lands! Located near the path from the Speedway in Tomorrowland, you’ll find fan-favorites like burgers, salads, and more! And, kids will love the Sonny Eclipse Lounge, where they can sit and listen to a fun music show.
The Lunching Pad
Looking for a quick bite to eat while you’re in Tomorrowland? Blast off at The Lunching Pad to taste out-of-this-world snacks, including kid-friendly options such as all-beef foot-long hot dogs, Mickey pretzels, and drinks. It’s a great place to grab a table and take a break from the rides for a moment.
Animal Kingdom: Explore the Wild Side
Satu’li Canteen
You’ll find some of the most creative food options at Satu’li Canteen — the newest dining location at Animal Kingdom in Pandora – The World of Avatar! This Avatar-themed restaurant is a fun experience for everyone in the family, especially those looking to discover the culture of the Na’vi in more depth. The cheeseburger steamed pods are 100% worth a stop here while you relax and cool down from your adventures!
Rainforest Cafe
Bring your little explorers to the Amazon via the Rainforest Cafe located at the Animal Kingdom entrance near The Outpost Shop! Dine amongst animated jungle friends and even get caught in a rainstorm. Food options include American-style food with a tropical twist. There’s even a gift shop to commemorate your visit to one of the best Disney World restaurants for kids. If you do have young children who do not like thunderstorms, this may not be the restaurant for you.
Harambe Market in Africa
You’ll be greeted by citizens of Harambe at this quaint market built around an old colonial-era train depot and will find African-inspired dishes on the menu. Have a Lion King fan in the family? Don’t miss the Simba cupcake. And, if you prefer a quick stop, the Fruit Market is right around the corner. They offer Simba-themed pretzels, fresh fruit cups, and other healthy snack options.
EPCOT Restaurants: Discover Global Cuisine
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
Another royal dining option is Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot, where visitors can take part in a meal fit for a princess in a medieval castle! Close by the Frozen ride, you’ll find all of the princesses here and this family-style restaurant. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner with something on the menu that everyone will enjoy.
Biergarten Restaurant at World Showcase
It’s no secret that Epcot will transport you throughout the globe! This beautifully constructed restaurant will take you into a quaint German village where you can celebrate Oktoberfest at any time during the year. While it may not seem kid-friendly at first, you’ll find the atmosphere is just that. There is typically a live German band playing and plenty of room for dancing with everyone in the family! You’ll find staples from Germany on the list of menu items — bratwurst, pork schnitzel, and Bavarian cheesecake here.
Garden Grill Restaurant
The Garden Grill Restaurant is an opportunity to enjoy full-service food and a ton of fun overlooking the Living the Land exhibit! This restaurant is located in Future World and features American-style dining. While you’re dining, you may just see some well-known Disney characters parading through the restaurant — like Farmer Mickey, Chip, and Dale.
Hollywood Studios: Restaurant fun with the Family
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant
Adults and kids alike will love the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant on Commissary Lane! Very similar to an actual drive-in movie, retrofitted Chevy’s act as dining tables under a twilight sky. This is an excellent spot if you need a little bit of downtime while the kiddos watch sci-fi movie trailers on the big screen. The entire experience makes this hands down one of our favorite Disney World restaurants for kids. And, don’t forget about the old-fashioned, drive-in style concession stand and vintage memorabilia. For those who will be accompanied by young children, keep in mind that it can get dark at this restaurant — so plan accordingly.
50s Prime Time Cafe
This is such a fun experience for everyone! Waiters and waitresses play as family members while “mom” cooks in the kitchen for guests. As a warning, watch out for “mom” — she’ll chastise parents and kids for poor manners like putting elbows on the table. This can even be a great learning experience for young children who need a reminder every now and then to be on their best behavior. Plus, nothing beats getting to see your parents being “reprimanded” by “mom”… and if you finish everything on your plate, you may even get a sticker! How cute is that? Plus, there’s a 50’s vibe throughout the entire restaurant that adds a nice touch to the whole dining experience.
Disney Early Morning Breakfast in Toy Storyland
Last but not least.. what better way for kiddos to start their day than in Andy’s backyard?! They can do just that with breakfast at the Disney Early Morning breakfast event in Toy Storyland. Kids (and parents) can meet Toy Story characters and enjoy a delicious breakfast.
This is certainly far from an exhaustive list of restaurant options, but these are some of the best Disney World restaurants for kids that we recommend checking out while you’re here! Please remember that character dining and other events may be modified or unavailable due to COVID-19, so be sure to check with the venues directly for up-to-the-minute information.
